Students of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) of the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College Candon Campus, spearheaded by Campus Director Annie D. Dorada earned national recognition after securing podium finishes in three categories at the United Tourism and Hospitality Professionals (UTHP) Skills Competition held on October 16–17, 2026, in Biñan, Laguna.

Fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) twin sisters Sarah Ramos and Sherine Ramos led the contingent’s achievements, finishing as 1st Runner-up in Bed Making.

Cristian Patis, a first-year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) student, placed 4th Runner-up in the Mr. and Ms. UTHP 2026 pageant. Meanwhile, third-year BSHM students Lucky Jimenez and Kurt Manzano secured 4th Runner-up in Flair Tending, demonstrating their skills in hospitality service and performance.

The delegates, led by CHTM Dean Dr. Richard Etrata, attended the UTHP National Convention, where they gained industry insights, connected with fellow participants and professionals, and explored emerging trends in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
