  • ISPSC celebrates MLE achievements; ranks as top 2 performing school with 98.51% passing rate

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) Main Campus honored its new Midwifery Licensure Examination (MLE) passers through a Testimonial Luncheon and Motorcade held on December 11, 2025, at the ISPSC Main Gymnasium. The event celebrated the institution’s outstanding performance in the recent examination with a 98.51% institutional passing rate, earning ISPSC recognition as the Top 2 Performing School, the Top 1 Regional Topnotcher, and home to three national topnotchers.

    The event commenced with a morning motorcade followed by a testimonial program, which recognized the achievements of 66 newly registered midwives.

    In his message, ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero commended the achievers, saying, “To our topnotchers and passers, as well as the entire Midwifery Department, congratulations. Your success elevates the name of ISPSC and reinforces our identity as a growing institution committed to academic excellence and public service.”

    “As one ISPSC community, we move forward with confidence, faith, and purpose as we nurture professionals who serve with competence, compassion, and integrity”, he further emphasized. Dr. Obrero also thanked the endless support of Hon. Eric D. Singson, Mayor of Candon City.

    Hon. Eric “Owen” G. Singson Jr., City Councilor of Candon City, who represented Mayor Singson, commended the institution for its national achievement and offered words of guidance to the MLE passers.

    Also present during the program were Dr. Filipinas M. Gasalao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Sheryl S. Morata, Campus Director of ISPSC Main.

    Top-performing alumni, Ms. Catherene P. Sunio (10th Placer), Ms. Glory R. Aciong (9th Placer) and Ms. Kristine V. Quiabang (5th Placer) were also given the spotlight to share their testimonial messages highlighting their journey towards an unexpected performance in the licensure examination.

    Further, in recognition of the outstanding performance, certificates of recognition were awarded to the board passers.

    Prof. Amelia C. Antonio, Program Head of Midwifery, also recognized the success of the newly-registered midwives together with the faculty and staff of the College of Health and Sciences, led by Dr. Gevin Soriano.

    With its strong vision of becoming a smart, globally competitive, and responsive state university, ISPSC once again proves its dedication to academic excellence, professionalism, and community service.
