  • ISPSC researchers convene, strengthens research processes

    Anchored on the theme, “Empowering Researchers, Advancing Ideas, Transforming Communities,” faculty members, researchers, and presenters of the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College gathered for the conduct of the Hybrid (Virtual and Physical) In-House Review held at ISPSC Main Campus and Sta. Maria Campus, May 25-26. 

    ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero emphasized that, as an institution, research initiatives should continuously contribute to the improvement and expansion of knowledge. Dr. Obrero highlighted that the increasing number of research projects produced by the institution reflects its growing commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and transformative community engagement. This was supported by the presented data on the growing number of publications and scopus-indexed research by Dr. Jocelyn Absolor, Vice President for Research Development and Extension. 

    As part of the opening program, Dr. Rommel Valencia Tabula, OIC Dean of the College of Teacher Education, served as the Resource Person and delivered a discussion about research and emphasized its vital role in strengthening academic growth, innovation, and community development. Dr. Tabula encouraged researchers to continue producing quality and relevant studies that address real-life concerns and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and society.

    The activity served as a venue for presenters to showcase their proposal, on-going, and completed research across various fields and disciplines. Through the presentations, participants shared their innovative ideas, research progress, methodologies, and significant findings aimed at contributing to institutional development and community advancement. The presentations also allowed participants to receive valuable recommendations from evaluators and fellow researchers to further improve the quality and impact of their studies.

    Also present were Dr. Milagros Liberato, Director for Research, Ms. Rose Marie Detran, Director for Extension and campus research coordinators who spearheaded the organizing of the event. (Justin Jim Rigor, STRATCOM Intern)
