The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College brought together its seven campuses as it formally opened the 2026 Intercampus Sports Meet and Culture and Arts Festival on November 3, 2026, at the ISPSC Main Campus.

Anchored on the theme "Strength in Unity, Pride in Victory," the four-day event gathers student-athletes and cultural performers, accompanied by College officials, Campus Directors, coaches and campus delegates in a series of sporting, dance, literary, and cultural competitions. The competitions brought a total of 198 athletes and performers from Blue Marlins, 108 from Red Stallions, 91 from Tiger Sharks, 105 Mantra Rays, 243 from White Wolves, 298 from Green Buffaloes and 314 from Black Orcas.

Instilling the theme in his speech, ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero quoted, “No champion stands alone. Behind every victory is teamwork. Behind every achievement is discipline. And behind every successful individual is a community that inspires, supports, and believes.”

Dr. Ryan Victor Abaya, Director for Sports, Culture and the Arts also underscored the importance of the Intercampus Meet to the future hosting of ISPSC in the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) 2027.

Aside from the sashing ceremony to Mr. and Ms. ISPSC SCUAA 2026 candidates, the traditional hoisting of banners and lighting of solidarity urn, marked the commencement of the Intercampus Sports Meet and Culture and Arts Festival.

The event serves as an opportunity for ISPSC to strengthen its organizational readiness and institutional capacity as it looks forward to hosting the SCUAA 2027. (MVB)
