  • ISPSC conducts Gender Sensitivity training to GFPS members and new personnel

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College conducted a three-day Gender Sensitivity Training which aims to build awareness on gender and development, from July 28 to 30, at the ISPSC Main Campus Hostel. 

    The activity gathered teaching and non-teaching personnel across ISPSC's seven campuses, alongside members of the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS). 

    Throughout the sessions, participants actively engaged in lectures and interactive activities designed to continuously promote gender awareness and inclusivity, and strengthen gender responsiveness within the institution’s educational environment. 

    Serving as the resource speaker was Prof. King David J. Agreda, a member of both the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) National GAD Resource Pool and the NEDA CALABARZON Regional GAD Resource Pool. 

    Beyond policy, Prof. Agreda stressed the power of open communication in promoting shared responsibility in households and workplaces alike. He underscored the importance of safe spaces, and gender sensitivity to protect individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities from harassment. 

    The three-day event was led by ISPSC CGAD Director Maribel C. Ibañez, alongside ISPSC Main Campus Director Dr. Sheryl Morata. Highlighting ISPSC’s push for gender equality and inclusivity in higher education, the initiative supports the institution’s overarching vision to transition into the University of Ilocos Philippines (UIP).
