    NEWS ISPSC celebrates President Obrero’s First 100 Days

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) held a systemwide celebration of President Mario P. Obrero’s first 100 days in office on July 7, 2025, at the Main Campus Gymnasium.

    Dr. Obrero delivered his College Report, highlighting key initiatives and accomplishments since he assumed leadership in March.

    He outlined the ONWARDS UIP framework, anchored on UIP 2030, his vision of a smart, globally competitive and responsive state university.

    The celebration opened with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Florentino Escalona, who emphasized that the president’s success relies on the support of the entire ISPSC community.

    Following the presentation, several key stakeholders and guests shared messages of support and commendation.

    Candon City Mayor Eric D. Singson reaffirmed the city’s commitment to supporting ISPSC, recognizing its vital role in the province and expressing confidence in its future as a university.

    Meanwhile, Hon. Fayinna Zaragoza-Delgado, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member of the 2nd District of Ilocos Sur, represented Ilocos Sur Governor Jeremias Singson and Deputy Speaker Kristine Singson-Meehan and conveyed their commendation and support for President Obrero’s leadership and initiatives.

    Dr. Epifania O. Agustin, former Vice President for Research, Extension, and Business and former Vice President for Academic Affairs of Mariano Marcos State University, praised Dr. Obrero’s bold decision to lead in shaping lives and futures as a public servant.

    Notably, Dr. Mariquit Obrero expressed pride in her husband’s dedication, having witnessed his tireless work firsthand.

    As ISPSC moves forward under President Obrero’s leadership, the first 100 days mark a milestone of purposeful progress, defined by strategic direction, strong partnerships, and a commitment to inclusive and transformative education, laying a firm foundation for its transition to universityhood.
