    NEWS ISPSC secures KWF Grant for language and culture project

    Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) is one of 29 institutions nationwide selected by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) to receive funding for its 2025 Tertulyang Pangwika proposal titled “Siksik: Saliksik-Pagsasanib ng Wika at Panitikang Lokal sa Pagtuturo, Pananaliksik, at Pagpapalaganap ng Kultura.”

    The project, undertaken under the leadership of ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero and Dr. Christian C. Gandeza, Special Assistant to the President, aims to promote the use of Filipino and local literature in instruction, research, and cultural preservation.

    Aligned with KWF’s national language development agenda under Republic Act 7104, the project will run from May to September 2025. It will document at least 20 oral literary forms from Ilocos Sur, develop classroom-ready teaching modules, and culminate in a language forum and literary showcase.

    The initiative received a ?20,000 grant from KWF, with ISPSC committing an additional ?31,000 as counterpart funding to support its implementation. (JGP)
