    NEWS ISPSC joins national drive to empower SUCs at 2025 PASUC Convention

    The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC), led by President Mario P. Obrero, joined over 1,000 presidents, academic leaders, and officials from 113 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the country during the 2025 PASUC Midterm Convention and General Assembly on July 9-11 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

    With the theme “Forging the Future: Empowering SUCs through Innovation, Sustainability, and Excellence,” the national gathering reaffirmed the collective vision of Philippine SUCs to recalibrate higher education in the context of global shifts, digital transformation, and the pursuit of long-term institutional resilience.

    Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman delivered the opening keynote message, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration between SUCs and government agencies in advancing inclusive, innovation-driven education across the country.

    The three-day convention features plenary and panel discussions on internationalization, digital governance, science and innovation, AI-readiness, public resource management, and workforce well-being. 

    In addition, key officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Civil Service Commission (CSC), and other national institutions presented strategies aligned with building globally competitive, digitally empowered, and sustainability-driven SUCs.

    ISPSC's participation underscores the college’s ongoing efforts to align with national priorities and contribute to shaping a future-ready higher education system anchored on innovation and institutional excellence. (JGP)
