    NEWS  ISPSC continues 2025 Hybrid In-House RDE review with Main and Candon presenters 

    With the theme “Balancing Innovation with Ethics: Artificial Intelligence and Research Integrity,” Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) conducted the second day of its 2025 Campus-Based Hybrid In-House Review of Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) proposals, on-going, and completed papers and programs from the Main and Candon campuses on June 30, 2025, at the RDETC Building Function Hall, ISPSC Main Campus. 

    Dr. John Paul Alasaas, Assistant Campus Director of the Main Campus, formally opened the program with a message highlighting the relevance of research in advancing ISPSC’s academic and institutional direction. Meanwhile, Dr. Milagros O. Liberato, Director for Research, introduced the panel of evaluators and emphasized that nearly 300 proposals are expected to be assessed throughout the three-day review. 

    Presentations were conducted in six parallel sessions that focused on research and extension proposals, as well as on-going and completed studies and programs. Sessions 1 to 4 were dedicated to research proposals; Session 5 covered proposals, on-going, and completed research studies; while Session 6 focused on extension proposals and PPAs. 

    For Session 1, the evaluators were Dr. Ranec A. Azarias, Dr. Rico Gagto, Ms. Michelle Mendoza, and Ms. Jamie Joyce D. Gonzaga. For Session 2, Dr. Richard Etrata, Ms. Tricia L. Gundran, Dr. Gevin Soriano, and Dr. Arjay Gacula served as evaluators. Session 3 proposals were reviewed by Dr. Annie D. Dorada, Mr. Ralph Nicole A. Sevilla, Dr. Tanya Sue D. Barayuga, and Dr. Jonathan L. Dela Cruz. For Session 4, the reviewers were Dr. Desa D. Abaya, Dr. Katrina Sarazawa, Dr. Vitruvius John Barayuga, and Mr. Jonathan Pagatpatan. Session 5 was handled by Dr. Jocelyn L. Absolor, Dr. Milagros O. Liberato, Dr. Perlita F. Tomas, and Dr. Remely A. Sanidad. Lastly, Mrs. Rose Marie C. Detran, Dr. Christian Gandeza, Dr. Francisco N. Divina, Ms. Jennifer Andrada, Mr. Sherwin Paguiligan, and Mr. Marvin Galano served as evaluators. 

    The in-house review, which runs from July 29 to 31 in three clusters held at the Santa Maria, Main, and Tagudin campuses, aims to strengthen the RDE culture at ISPSC in support of the institution’s development goals toward becoming the University of Ilocos Philippines (UIP). (RNS)
