    NEWS ISPSC faculty member wins Best Paper at SEAMREEC 2025

    Mr. Christian C. Molina, faculty member of the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) Narvacan Campus, was named Best Conference Paper Awardee in the Agri-Fisheries and Natural Resources track during the Southeast Asian Multidisciplinary Research Expo and Extension Conference (SEAMREEC) held on June 24–27 at the Sorsogon Convention Center, Sorsogon City.

    His paper, titled “Morphological and Molecular Identification of Padas (Siganus spp.) in Northwestern Luzon, Philippines”, was recognized for its significant contribution to fisheries research, particularly in biodiversity conservation and resource management.

    ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “Their outstanding performance at SEAMREEC 2025 reflects both their individual excellence and ISPSC’s rising influence in fisheries and sustainable development. It’s an inspiring milestone as we strengthen our culture of research and innovation.”

    Molina was joined by fellow faculty researchers Dr. Solomon L. Anagaran and Atty. Jose Q. Cabatu, who presented their collaborative study on the mass production and optimization of Azolla filiculoides for organic aquaculture.

    ISPSC’s participation in the conference affirms its active role in advancing regional research and extension initiatives aligned with global sustainability goals. (INABM)
