ISPSC President joins HEI Leaders in UPLB Leadership Program

Emphasizing the institution’s dedication to building stronger collaborations within the higher education sector, ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero was among the academic leaders who took part in the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Higher Education Leadership Mentoring Seminar (HELMS) at the Urdaneta City University, Pangasinan on April 30, 2025. 

The HELMS, a program under the UPLB Office for Institutional Development in Higher Education (OIDHE), creates opportunities for the officials and administrators from UPLB partner higher education institutions (HEIs) to engage with leaders in UPLB.

During the seminar, Dr. Obrero shared his experiences and leadership strategies, focusing on how HEIs can innovate and work together more effectively. He underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships to enhance academic excellence and community engagement. 

In addition, he highlighted the importance of transformative leadership in creating a collaborative environment, urging institutions to embrace progressive strategies, and ensuring that educational institutions remain responsive to societal needs.

Through this program, fellows from partner institutions had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and gained insights from UPLB’s best practices and strategies in higher education. The seminar also served as a timely opportunity for ISPSC to gain insights and build strategic partnerships that support its ongoing efforts toward achieving university status.
