Brief History

Candon City Campus was formerly the Southern Ilocos Sur School of Fisheries (SISSOF) which evolved from a fishery demonstration farm (Ilocos Sur Marine Demonstration Farm). It is located in the coastal barangay of Darapidap, Candon City. With its integration into the ISPSC, it became the College of Commercial and Social Services. At present Candon City Campus houses the College of Business and Hospitality Management.

Report on Anti-illegal Drugs Campaign

In support of the advocacy of the President, His Excellency Rodrigo Roa Duterte to eradicate illegal drugs in the entire country and in compliance to the Philippine Drug Enforcement agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to submit a monthly activity regarding the implementation of the Project, the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College has been doing its best to help in its implementation through educational campaign among the students and personnel of the College.

Last July 31, 2017, faculty members and student leaders represented the College in the in establishment/formulation of the different organizations of the Philippine National Police, Candon City Police Station, Candon City, Ilocos Sur. Its aim is to organize volunteers to support their programs on law and order, emergency response and anti-illegal drugs. The different organizations formed are: the National Tokhang Advocacy Coalition (NSTAC), National Coalition of Information Technology Advocates for Change (NCITAC), and the Anti-Crime and Community Emergency Response Team (ACCERT). The formulation of these organizations is in accordance with the directive of the PNP Police Regional Office. In return, the College was included in the NCITAC and ACCERT. College students were being convinced to be members of the different organization especially to the NCITAC while personnel were encouraged to join the ACCERT. NCITAC main duty is to support the PNP in reporting incidents and depending the police in its duties and responsibilities while the ACCERT is to report unlawful activities and help in the emergency response.

On August 25, 2017 the first of a series of educational campaign against illegal drugs was conducted by members of the Philippine National Police, Candon City Station. The different illegal drugs in the country were discussed and its bad effects to the body. The National Service Training Program subjects of the College is also doing its best to educate the ill-effects on the use of illegal drugs and other vices and on good citizenship by following the laws, rules and regulations given by the authorities.

The recently concluded Consumer Education and Information (CEI)Drive conducted by representatives from DTI - Ilocos Sur Provincial office with the theme: "Fair Digital Finance", in which the students from the different departments were enlightened about the following topics:

  • *Rights and responsibilities of consumers,
  • *Digital finance services and
  • *Fair trade laws
